Findings:

The Primal Mutation is caused by an ancient gene dating back millions of years most likely belonging to a species of long extinct cave lion. How this gene became present in the modern day felines of lioden is yet to be discovered, however its unique qualities make it a desired specimen among many breeders. Primals are easily distinguished by their large stocky bodies, bobbed tails, slit eyes, thick mane and sabre teeth. The gene itself, along with very few others existent is actually hereditary  however as far as tests have shown, only male lions can pass on the mutation to their cubs. Females can obtain the Primal gene, but due to their lack of specific chromosomes can not pass on their primal features to offspring.
